Summary :
Dating from the 1930s, Dial House in Salford is a large telephone exchange and administration centre for BT situated on the banks of the River Irwell.
The imposing brick built eight storey structure with render columns, panels and features had numerous loose and defective areas which were in need of repair and refurbishment to maintain safety and enhance the visual appearance of the building.
Refurbishment of the flat roof areas was undertaken as part of the overall refurbishment project.
Refurbishment :
Holloway Cook limited secured the main contract works and JDF RS Limited were asked to undertake the refurbishment works to all brick / render / concrete components.
Elements of the work were undertaken by rope access with the bulk of the repair work undertaken off fixed access scaffolding.
Sika repair and coating materials were used on the project.
The project was delivered on time within the agreed initial budget to the satisfaction of the client.
